PETALING JAYA: The Government spends RM400mil a year on waste disposal but some RM88mil can be saved if the people reduce their waste production by 22%, Deputy Information Minister Datuk Donald Lim Siang Chai said.
He said Malaysians produced 17,000 tonnes of garbage daily and the figure was projected to rise by 2% a year as a result of economic growth and population increase.
