KUALA LUMPUR: The pouring rain and traffic jams did not deter over 4,000 people from attending a special memorial mass here to remember the words and deeds of Pope John Paul II.
At St John’s Cathedral yesterday, Catholics and non-Catholics alike started streaming in almost two hours early for a special service to pay their respects to the pontiff, who will be laid to rest today at Vatican City.
