Sheila Majid gives birth to baby girl

PETALING JAYA: Jazz diva Sheila Majid and husband Hashridz Murshim (also known as Acis) are now proud parents of a baby girl. 

The singer’s manager, Tris Zainil Abidin, said Khadeja Zaireen was born at 2.30pm on Tuesday, weighing a healthy 3.45kg. He said the birth was “a bit early,” as she was due on Saturday. 

However, he added that both Sheila and Acis were very relieved that “everything went smoothly.” Her musician-producer husband was present throughout the delivery. 

Sheila and Acis are now proud parents to a baby girl.

Sheila has two other children, Wan Nur Khaleda, 13, and Megat Abdul Majod, 10, from her previous marriage to producer Roslan Aziz. 

Tris said the family were expecting a boy, although they did not know the sex of the baby before birth. 

He said this was because Sheila looked glowing and radiant throughout her pregnancy, a sign taken by some old-timers that the child would be a boy. However, he added, both Sheila and Acis were prepared with names for either sex.  

Tris said Sheila would return to her music commitments after the confinement period.
