Abdullah tops Johor Sultan's birthday list


JOHOR BARU: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi heads the list of 469 award recipients in conjunction with the Sultan of Johor's 72nd birthday today. 

Abdullah will be conferred the Darjah Kerabat First Class (DK I), the highest award in the state, at an investiture ceremony at Istana Besar here. 

Another recipient of the award is Johor Royal Council member Ungku Yusoff Abdul Rahman, who will be conferred the DK II award. 

Mentri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman will be conferred the Darjah Mahkota Johor Yang Amat Mulia (SPMJ) First Class carrying the title Datuk. 

The general manager of Mados Entreprise Sdn Bhd, William Smith Walker, will be awarded the Darjah Mahkota Johor Yang Amat Mulia (DPMJ) Second Class, which carries the title Datuk. 

Four people have been awarded the Darjah Mahkota Johor Yang Amat Mulia (SMJ) Third Class. 

They are Kluang-based Seventh Brigade Commander Brig Jen Mohd Rozi Baharom, Ulu Tiram Army Training Centre commandant Col Mohd Perang Musa, the Sultan's son-in-law Lt Cdr Shatfdean Lufty Rusland and A. Ganapathy. State Secretary Datuk Mohd Razali Mahusin, State Financial Officer Datuk Ishak Amin and State Economic Planning Unit director Datuk Sheikh A Hardy Ahmad are among 22 recipients of the Pingat Kerana Lama Dan Baik Dalam Pekerjaan (PLP). 

Two personnel of the Johor Military Force, Staff Sgt Abdullah Ya’cob and Sgt Samudin Muningin, will receive the Pingat Kerana Jasa Dan Lama Dalam Pekerjaan (PJP). 

Three hundred and seventy nine will receive the Pingat Ibrahim Sultan Second Class (PIS II) while another 58 with be conferred with the PIS III medals.
