KUCHING: There is an urgent need to publish inventories of limestone flora in Sarawak’s Mulu, Niah and Bau areas to assist management and conservation efforts, said Singapore Botanic Garden botanist Dr Ruth Kiew.
She said recent and yet to be published inventories of Gunung Api in the Mulu National Park, the Subis limestone area in the Niah National Park and the limestone hills in Bau showed that these three areas were distinct and had “endemic and undescribed species”.
