PETALING JAYA: Muslims today lack the confidence to use their intellect to extract the principles of the Quran and seem inclined, instead, to blindly imitate “an old model,” said renowned Islamic scholar Dr Tariq Ramadan.
He said there seemed to be a tendency to “absolutise” the context of the Quran and to look at what Prophet Muhammad did and follow exactly in his footsteps.
