IPOH: Although it is the norm to make vows for personal reasons during Thaipusam, a group here feels that it is important to make a vow for world peace and to unite Indians through culture.
Members of the Ipoh-based Sebastiar Arts and Culture Academy here under the leadership of A. Iruthiyam Sebastiar made the vow in 1990 by pulling chariots with decorations made of polystyrene with two 130m ropes.
