PETALING JAYA: Parent-teacher associations (PTAs) can apply directly for allocations to fund school maintenance until Nov 30.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday (Nov 3), Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said the initiative aimed to give PTAs a more direct role in identifying and addressing their schools' maintenance needs.

"There are advantages to allowing PTAs to be directly involved.

"They are closer to the schools' actual conditions and better understand the issues that need urgent attention," she said.

Fadhlina emphasised that maintaining a conducive learning environment is a shared responsibility.

"Parents also have an important role to play in ensuring their children learn in a safe and comfortable environment," she said.

Applications can be submitted online at https://go.gov.my/f/r23zsajrg8nxba4zv2089xls.
