Hybrid lectures for student teachers

PETALING JAYA: All Institutes of Teacher Education (IPGs) will be allowed to conduct hybrid lectures over four days to enable student teachers to celebrate Deepavali with their families without missing classes.

Education Minister Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek (pic) said the arrangement would run from Nov 9 to 12 for Group A states (Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu) and from Nov 10 to 13 for Group B states (all other states except Sarawak).

“Through this facility, student teachers who return home to celebrate Deepavali can still attend lectures online,” she said in a Facebook post on Sunday.

Deepavali falls on Nov 8.

On Oct 28, the Education Ministry said schools in Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu would have an extra holiday on Nov 9, while schools in Group B states would observe an extra holiday on Nov 10.
