BELIEVE in your potential, persevere through your journey, and the rewards will follow.
That is the advice Felicia Ng Wan Yee has for students pursuing the Master of Business Administration (Corporate Governance) (MBACG) programme, a collaboration between Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) and the Malaysian Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (MAICSA).
Ng has experienced those rewards herself. She celebrated two milestones at UTAR’s 43rd convocation at its Kampar Campus on Aug 14, graduating from the MBACG programme and receiving the Marrybrown Excellence Award for her exemplary academic achievement and leadership potential.
“This recognition is both meaningful and encouraging. It reflects not only my personal efforts but also the unwavering support and guidance of dedicated lecturers and supportive coursemates throughout my academic journey. I am grateful to everyone who contributed to my learning experience and helped make this achievement possible,” she said in a press release.
She added that the award motivates her to continue striving for excellence in her professional and personal development.
“It reinforces my commitment to ethical leadership, corporate governance and lifelong learning, which are increasingly important in today’s business environment,” said Ng, who was a national finalist at the MAICSA Young Governance Professional Awards 2025.
Describing her enrolment in the MBACG programme as one of her best decisions, she said it has broadened her perspective, enhanced her professional competencies, and deepened her understanding of governance and responsible business practices.
Marrybrown HR manager Muhammad Raihan Mohaidin, who presented Ng with the award comprising RM1,000 in cash, a certificate and vouchers, said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to giving back to the community by supporting education, recognising excellence and encouraging the next generation of talent.
“We believe that outstanding graduates like Felicia Ng, who combine strong academic performance with leadership potential, are precisely the kind of future leaders who will help shape Malaysia’s corporate and governance landscape,” he said.
UTAR Faculty of Accountancy and Management Assoc Prof Abdullah Sallehhuddin Abdullah Salim, who is the MBA & MBACG programmes head, expressed pride in Ng’s achievement.
“Completing her academic journey while fulfilling her commitments as a working professional, a mother, a daughter and a wife was certainly no easy feat. We hope that this accomplishment will inspire her to reach even greater heights in the years ahead,” he said.
