PTAs taking charge

Our parent-teacher association (PTA) actively assists the school in identifying, funding and arranging qualified speakers and experts to conduct workshops and seminars for both students and parents. We also play a crucial role in guiding parents on proper protocols for reporting incidents.

During Monday morning assemblies, the school holds regular announcements and dedicated briefings on what constitutes bullying, how to recognise it, and the importance of reporting incidents, keeping the issue at the forefront of students’ minds. Local police officers are also invited to speak on the severity of bullying and its consequences.

A visual awareness campaign runs throughout the school, with strategically placed posters providing immediate access to helplines or reporting channels.

At the core of this system are the counselling teachers, who offer a safe, confidential and empathetic space for victims to seek emotional support or report concerns. Perpetrators also receive guidance and corrective intervention, ensuring every child has a trusted adult to turn to.

Over the years, the Student Affairs unit has organised several anti-bullying awareness programmes. Parents have also been invited to deliver talks to students as part of these programmes. Beyond these initiatives, the school places strong emphasis on nurturing moral values and good character, which are among the most effective ways to prevent bullying behaviour.

From time to time, our PTA assists in facilitating or mediating discussions in bullying-related situations when requested by the school, particularly in bridging communication between parents and the school. We also work closely with the school, parents and the police liaison officer to address student well-being concerns.
