I READ with dismay news of the global climate situation in the latest Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report, published on April 4.

United Nations secretary-general António Guterres, in a response to it, said, “This report is a litany of broken climate promises. It is a file of shame... that put us firmly on track towards an unlivable world. We are on a fast track to climate disaster.”
