Enabling youths to FLY

UCSI University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the NCT Group of Companies (NCT Group), a property developer, to provide students with educational opportunities and industry experiences, simultaneously fostering a competent future workforce through a student campaign called FLY Youth.

Intended to advocate students’ self-development, the initiative will serve as an opportunity for the Group to be more hands-on in mentoring students, said its co-founder Datuk Joe Yap Fook Choy in a press release.

“On top of the usual internship programmes, the FLY Youth initiative will give students a better understanding of real-life industry experience and expectations, ” he added.

Assoc Prof Dr Jimmy Mok Vee Hoong said learning to ride through adversities and challenges are part and parcel of paving the road to success.

Prof Mok is UCSI University deputy vice-chancellor (academic, student and alumni affairs) and Faculty of Social Sciences & Liberal Arts acting dean.

“I am excited as the collaboration with the Group will give students more insights into the industry, particularly in the field of architecture, engineering, construction, business and marketing, ” he said.
