Five-stars for research


UNIVERSITY of Nottingham Malaysia was given a five-star rating in the Malaysia Research Assessment (MyRA) for research excellence.

Research and knowledge exchange vice provost Prof Deborah Hall said the award recognises the quality and breadth of research its staff is engaged in.

Comprising 280 academic staff, the university’s research focuses on future food Malaysia and developing sustainable societies, nanotechnology, inclusion in the workplace, data analytics and artificial intelligence, among others.

Pleased that the varsity had retained its five-star rating, its chief executive officer and provost Prof Graham Kendall said this shows that Nottingham research is still among the best in Malaysia “but we will continue to push ourselves harder.”
