Wan Saiful is PTPTN chairman


WAN Saiful Wan Jan (pic) has been appointed as chairman of the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) on a two-year term effective June 18.

He takes over from Datuk Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah who resigned on May 15, about a week after Pakatan Harapan won the elections. Wan Saiful is also a special adviser to Education Minister Dr Maszlee Malik.

He holds a Master’s in Research Methodology from Middlesex University and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Northumbria University. Both institutions are in the United Kingdom.

In the past, he has served in various posts including as Institute of Southeast Asian Studies senior visiting fellow, Singapore; Institute for Democracy and Economic Affairs chief executive officer and board of directors member; Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry board of directors member; and an honorary adviser to the Malaysia-China Chambers of Commerce.
