Suria KLCC unveils new stores in its expansion plans

SURIA KLCC has expanded its mall to house more specialty stores for its customers.

KLCC Property Holdings Bhd has undertaken the development of the retail space as part of the office development project adjacent to Suria KLCC at the Ramlee side of the mall.

The project is seamlessly integrated into the retail block of Suria KLCC.

The new retail podium accounts for 140,000 sq ft and provides a new shopping experience to Suria KLCC visitors.

Officially opened in June this year, the new retail podium also known as the Ramlee Mall expansion offers 37 specialty outlets including Cartier and Chanel flagship stores as well as the first and only French Sole shoe store in Malaysia.

Isetan’s massive store refurbishment opened its first phase in September this year with a world class food hall located on the concourse level with the convenience of travelators linking the concourse level to car park level 1 and 2.

With the redevelopment, new specialty stores have been created within the supermarket precinct including Melvita, Purple Cane Tea, Cache Cache, Vincci, Giordano, Tong Pakfu, TPF Hong King Dessert, Gelato Di Bruno, Chocolat World, Gong Cha, Rest, Relax and Reflex as well as Garrett Popcorn and Candylicious, both the first of its kind in Malaysia.

“Acting on consumer insights from research, we have embarked on a series of refurbishments to further set us apart as well as stay fresh and relevant to retail partners and customers.

“We are always on a search for new ideas to raise retail standards and improve shopping experiences to make our customers happy,” said Suria KLCC chief executive officer Andrew Brien.

The ground floor of Isetan which was unveiled recently showcases a new concept for the cosmetic department while levels three and four offers men and children’s wear respectively will be reopened this month.

Levels one and two of Isetan will undergo refurbishments and are expected to be completed by the first half of 2012.

“We expanded the Ramlee Mall side because of the high demand from our customers. We will also have the first Armani Cafe in South-East Asia soon.

“This is in line with our motto of ‘Always Something New’. Our biggest strength is our amenities.

“In terms of traffic, we have 41 million visitors per annum, a RM2bil annual turnover and 1.7 million sq ft gross floor area. Our 12,000 sq ft food court caters to 10,000 customers every day.

“The most important thing for us is that our customers are satisfied and happy,” said Brien.

KLCC Property Holdings and Qatari Investment Authority had undertaken another development where two additional towers will be built next to the Petronas Twin Towers.

The two blocks – an office tower and a hotel will sit on a four-storey podium retail block which will be integrated with the present four-storey retail mall.

This latest development is targeted to complete by 2015.
