Thunderstorm, heavy rain warning for six states, KL until 7pm


KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has warned of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in seven states and Kuala Lumpur until 7pm Saturday (Aug 29).

MetMalaysia said the warning was issued for the entire state of Kelantan and 11 districts in Perak: Batang Padang, Muallim, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Perak Tengah, Larut Matang, Selama, Hilir Perak and Bagan Datuk.

The warning also covers Hulu Terengganu, Dungun, Besut, Setiu, Kuala Nerus, Kuala Terengganu and Marang in Terengganu, and Lipis, Cameron Highlands, Rompin, Raub, Bentong, Jerantut and Temerloh in Pahang.

The two other states affected are Selangor, covering Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Gombak and Petaling, and Johor, covering Kluang, Mersing, Kota Tinggi and Segamat. - Bernama
