DBKL should keep their promises

While I welcome Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Seri Ahmad Phesal Talib’s promise that heritage buildings will not be sacrificed in plans to transform KL into a city of skyscrapers (More towers to dot KL skyline, StarMetro), the sorry state of Brickfields’ 100 Quarters make me doubt the sincerity of DBKL’s commitment.

Throughout the city, old buildings supposedly protected by preservation laws are left to rot up to the point where safety reasons are used to justify their demolition.
