Hungry canines can be dangerous

I HAVE read both published letters “Stray dogs a nuisance: Residents find their howling at night disturbing and also fear being bitten” and “Owners must be made to be more responsible”.

I live three doors away from Mrs G. Leong, the writer of the first letter. She is a kind old lady who gives food and water to stray dogs that come to her gate. She claims to have been bitten by stray dogs and I know this is true. I was driving my car out one morning when she came out for a morning walk. She carried no umbrella or stick.
