Singapore duo mixing it up at KL bar


Teng Hong will bring his spirit-forward creations to Astor Bar for one night only.

A masterclass in mixology awaits cocktail enthusiasts as Kuala Lumpur’s Astor Bar hosts renowned Singaporean bartenders Peter Chua and Teng Hong for a one-night guest shift on Oct 20.

Chua, owner and founder of Singapore’s acclaimed Night Hawk, and standout bartender Teng Hong will showcase their signature spirit-forward creations from 8pm onwards.

The two are known for their distinctive blend of retro-futuristic flair and progressive mixology techniques.

Their menu features signature classics from Night Hawk, an intimate 22-seat bar along Tanjong Pagar Road in Singapore that was ranked 16th on Asia’s 50 Best Bars in 2024.

The highlight is Nighthawks, made with rum, vodka, amaro, chocolate, coffee and hot coconut foam.

Other cocktails available during the event includes Stubbornness/Resilience, a mix of tequila, mezcal, Fino Sherry, green spice mix, citrus, coconut cream, absinthe, spicy honey miso kale and a coriander paprika salt rim.

There’s also Death/Appreciation of Time, which combines Macallan 12 Year Double Cask, Hennessy VSOP. Cognac, Michter’s Rye, banana, miso and chocolate.

Cocktails are priced at RM70nett.
