Weekend celebration of feminine creativity

Chang has a guest shift at W Hotel.

An event showcasing female creativity returns to a Kuala Lumpur hotel for its second year.

Leading Voices, a movement that champions women, is at W Kuala Lumpur this weekend.

This year’s theme “Own Your Frequency” is a call to embrace individuality, amplify personal expression and celebrate the women who are redefining culture through creativity.

W Kuala Lumpur general manager Volker Burth said the movement had evolved into something much greater than an event.

“Through art, music, mixology and tattoo culture, we’re inviting guests to immerse themselves in experiences that are deeply personal, unapologetically expressive and uniquely W.”

Guests can participate in a programme featuring thought-provoking conversations, contemporary art exhibitions, exclusive merchandise and the unveiling of a signature artwork created exclusively for this year’s residency.

Tomorrow, there will be a collaborative menu with Jun Wong at Wet Deck where guests get exclusive hands-on culinary masterclass from 6pm to 8pm.

It features two of her creations, where she shares her techniques, inspirations and creative approach to modern dining, paired with cocktails to complete the experience.

Priced at RM88nett per person, it includes two cocktails and two canapes.

From 8pm onwards, resident deejay Dora and Good Night KL founder Aidaho take over the Wet Deck.

There will also be guest shifts featuring mixologists, including Malaysia’s World Class Bartender of the Year 2026 Chang Yue Shuen from Coley, and Reka:Bar head bartender Anna Koh.

“The Art of Ink,” brings together some of Malaysia’s female tattoo artists for an exclusive live tattoo experience at the Living Room led by Carelyn Chow of House of Oma, alongside Venice Foo, Nagaia and Su Ann.

Guests can choose from a collection of exclusive flash designs and mini tattoos created especially for Leading Voices.

A female-led contemporary art exhibition will also be at the Living Room from 11am to 8pm tomorrow and 11am to 5pm on Sunday.

Merchandise, including Leading Voices tote bags, will be available for purchase.
