WITH the Year of the Horse, a Penang developer seized the opportunity to hold an annual company dinner themed Wild, Wild West.

Guests and employees went all out with their Native American, cowgirl and cowboy costumes while the “mane” attraction for photographs was a horse.

M Summit Group’s shindig at the W World banquet hall was a lively event featuring dancing and a singing competition, with employees vying for the top prize of RM500 in three categories.

Attendees took part in the best-dressed contest too, by giving their pick for both contests using a QR code.

There was also a lucky draw with smart watches, hampers and tablets among the prizes.

During the event, as part of their corporate social responsibility, the company donated RM3,000 each to Silver Jubilee Home for the Aged, Crystal Family Home Penang, Pasukan Bomba Sukarela Lebuh Bakau and Penang Fo Yi Haemodialysis Society.

In his speech, the group’s founder and chairman Datuk Albert Moh said the company was just a few desks and big ambition back in 2000.

“Our M Summit family today has grown to 100 employees. One table 26 years ago has become 52 tables tonight.”

In expressing his gratitude and confidence in employees and partners, he said the group’s target of RM3.5bil in total development value by 2035 might even be reached by 2032.

“I sincerely hope we will continue to walk this journey together and achieve even greater success,” said Albert.

Also present were the group’s executive director Datin Jennifer Ong, chief executive officer Moh Wei Ren, chief marketing and hospitality officer Moh Wei Ken, project director Moh Wei Khye, financial controller Fan Aun Nah, construction chief operating officer Alex Wong and finance manager Chiew Zhi Yan.

Wei Ren, in his speech, said the group’s London Pavilion was sold out in August while Tuan Pavilion achieved 70% sales last year within 11 months of launching.

He said the group will embark on three new projects this year: two joint ventures and Phase II of London Pavilion.

M Summit achieved RM1.2bil in total development value.

“This Lunar New Year is the Year of the Fire Horse. I was also born in the Year of the Horse.

“The horse represents speed, strength and courage.

“In the Year of the Horse, everything moves fast, but in the Year of the Fire Horse, things move even faster,” said Wei Ren.

“This can lead to misunderstanding between people.

“To avoid this, we must communicate more clearly to ensure things move smoothly.”

He said as the group explored new frontiers such as artificial intelligence (AI), new business models and markets, M Summit must strive to stay ahead.
