EMBARK on a culinary journey this Ramadan, exploring a mix of local favourites and Middle Eastern flavours.

Hilton Petaling Jaya executive chef Ridzuan Malek said diners at Paya Serai’s buffet should start with the aromatic Kambing Madu Guling.

Another treat for break of fast, delivering comfort and spice, is hearty Sup Tulang Kambing.

“For those who love robust flavours, the barbecue short ribs with its smoky char and savoury depth will definitely be a favourite.

“In contrast, the Daging Batang Pinang with Mushroom Rendang balances tender beef with a rich rendang served Wellington-style.”

Seafood lovers can look forward to the rich broth of Mee Rebus Udang Galah and tangy Ikan Asam Pedas.

Those craving kampung-style dishes can try the Kawah Lemak Cili Padi Podeh offerings featuring mussel, chicken and beef.

Adding a touch of nostalgia are the Nasi 10 Ulam and Ubi Tonyoh.

Durian lovers are also in for a treat, as every evening at 8.30pm, a lorry loaded with the King of Fruit will arrive at the venue, offering varieties such as Musang King, 101 and Udang Merah.

This is in addition to the spread of classic Malay desserts including badak berendam, serawa durian, talam, lopes and onde-onde that await.

The Middle Eastern section features Iskender Kebab, a combination of chicken, bread and yogurt.

There are also the live-carved Chicken Shawarma with flatbread and Shish Kebab with Lebanese bread.

“The Begendili Tavuk balances flavours beautifully, with chicken over a creamy, smoky eggplant puree that elevates the dish with richness.

“A mezze that includes creamy hummus, smoky baba ganoush, refreshing tzatziki and tangy fattoush rounds out the savoury offerings,” Ridzuan said.

“For dessert, diners can have the baklava or dondurma (Turkish ice-cream) with Turkish coffee, completing the Middle Eastern experience on an authentic note.”

The Ramadan dinner buffet is priced at RM228nett per adult and RM114nett per child (aged six to 12) until March 18.

On March 19 and 20, the price is RM178nett per adult and RM89nett per child.
