Vibrant murals turn Petaling Street back lane into tourist attraction

A STROLL along the back lane of Petaling Street, Kuala Lumpur offers a glimpse into the nation’s rich culture and heritage.

Striking murals line both sides of the lane dominated by vibrant shades of pink, purple and green.

The paintings depict people of various ethnicities in traditional attire, some performing cultural dances, traditional musical instruments, and arts and crafts.

Historical and iconic landmarks of the capital also serve as backdrops.

Tourists exploring the area, also known as the capital’s Chinatown, often stop by to take photos of the murals.

The area is also famous for its vibrant mix of shopping and food options.
