Penang government hosted a programme fostering cross-state youth engagement and strategic relationships between Selangor and Penang.

It involved Penggerak Belia Selangor (PeBS), the youth arm of Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ).

The three-day leadership programme was aimed at developing critical thinking, broadening knowledge and enhancing capacity to contribute meaningfully to community development and local governance.

There were also a series of activities highlighting Penang’s multicultural heritage, history and youth-centric social landscape.

The programme was an opportunity for dialogue with youth counterparts, including Penang Island Youth Committee (JBPP) and representatives from the state government.

It focused on key youth issues, state development, local governance practices and the vital role of young people in strengthening democratic participation and public policy processes.

Coordinator Jayden Pang said the initiative reflected PeBS’ commitment to nurturing the next generation of youth leaders who are courageous and forward-thinking in articulating constructive ideas.

PeBS thanked the Penang government, particularly tourism and creative economy committee chairman Wong Hon Wai, Komtar assemblyman Teh Lai Heng and Pulau Tikus assemblyman Joshua Woo for their support.
