23 Ramadan bazaar locations approved in Ipoh

IPOH City Council (MBI) has approved 23 Ramadan bazaar locations and 1,587 stalls in the city for this year.

In a statement, MBI said six hawker associations, three residents’ associations, two mosque and surau committees, one hawker cooperative and two private agencies have been approved to manage the bazaars.

It said a briefing on the bazaars was held at the council headquarters, chaired by MBI secretary Ahmad Munir Ishak and attended by councillors.

Bernama reported that MBI said the briefing was delivered by representatives from its Public Health and City Services Department, Licensing Department, Perak Social Security Organisation (PERKESO), Green Energy Asia Biofuel Resources, and MySafe Food and Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd.

After the session, letters of approval were given to the 14 Ramadan bazaar organisers.

“Traders may contact the listed organisers if they are interested in operating at their preferred Ramadan bazaar site.

“Applications should be submitted promptly as the number of trading lots at each location is limited,” added MBI.

“It is hoped that this year’s MBI Ramadan bazaars will operate smoothly, safely and in an orderly manner.”

Last year, MBI approved Ramadan bazaars at 21 locations, involving 1,390 stalls.
