Small talk on a motorbike turns into a kind act


A MOTORCYCLIST'S casual chat with Human Resources Minister Steven Sim Chee Keong during a Penang Riders convoy turned into a touching story of kindness that has gone viral.

Ahmat Ikhram, who shared the encounter on Facebook, said Sim struck up a conversation while both were on his bike during the event.

When asked about his work, Ahmat described his struggles with commitments and that he had yet to renew his motorcycle insurance, which cost him about RM590.

He thought nothing of it until he received a call from Sim’s office a week later.

The minister had quietly covered not only his motorcycle insurance but also the insurance for Ahmat’s wife and newborn child for a full year.

“I was speechless. I didn’t expect YB to remember what we talked about while riding.

“Thank you very much, YB. I’ll never forget this kindness,” he wrote.

Ahmat ended his post, urging others to stay positive and to believe that good deeds will bring good in return.
