WITH just a few months to go before Visit Johor 2026 (VJ2026), the state government and industry players are stepping up promotional efforts with the rollout of campaign stickers.

Tourism Johor director Mohammad Nazrul Abd Rahim said 10,000 stickers with the VJ2026 logo would be placed on public transport vehicles and public spaces to boost visibility and awareness.

He said the initiative, led by Johor Tourism Association (JTA) with support from Tourism Johor, involved all industry players, including tour guides.

“For a start, some 1,000 JTA tour guides were given stickers to place on their own vehicles as part of a collective effort to boost the campaign.

“The stickers will later be displayed on public transport vehicles, tour buses, taxis, express buses and even e-hailing cars,” Mohammad Nazrul said after a launch event for the stickers at Stadium Sultan Ibrahim in Iskandar Puteri.

He added that the stickers were part of a broader campaign promotion strategy that also included social media, mainstream media and collaborations with key individuals.

“The campaign is not just about promotion, but also about instilling pride among Johoreans to showcase the state’s culture, food and destinations.

“Our tourism scope has greatly widened, not only through upgrading our destinations but also by diversifying the types of tourists we attract.

“Sports tourism and edu-tourism are good examples,” he said.

“By hosting major events and conferences here, we create reasons for visitors to travel to Johor.”

Mohammad Nazrul thanked JTA for spearheading the promotional efforts and called on the wider community to play their part in making VJ2026 a success.

“Everyone, from tour guides to transport operators, will play a role in drawing inbound visitors.

“VJ2026’s success depends on everyone’s involvement, not just those in the tourism industry but the whole community.”
