THE 2025 Junior Chamber International (JCI) Malaysia First Area South Convention held in Batu Pahat, Johor attracted 220 attendees.
JCI Malaysia Area South chairman Alicia Ng Rupan said, “The two-day event was hosted by JCI Batu Pahat Entrepreneur and gathered members from across the southern region, leaders and representatives from across Malaysia to celebrate unity, growth and leadership in action.”
Ng said there were over
3,000 JCI Malaysia members with 791 of them in the southern region.
Ng added that the convention was in accordance with the organisation’s aim of equipping members across four main pillars – individual development, community impact, business advancement and international collaboration.
She said the convention was held to give members tools they needed to lead effectively and make a difference to their communities.
“We want participants to engage in skills like debate and public speaking to sharpen their communication and critical thinking skills in a multilingual setting,” she said.
Ng added that the convention featured a full-day programme of training, competitions and networking sessions.
She said workshops for members covering topics like effective task execution and self-promotion through short videos, since these skills were essential in professional and civic life, were carried out too.
JCI Malaysia is a national organisation affiliated with Junior Chamber International, a worldwide leadership development organisation for people aged 18 to 40.
It aims to develop leadership skills, encourage entrepreneurship and promote positive change in communities.
