THE My Ideal Homes Photo Contest 8.0” competition offers photographers a platform to showcase their talent.

Organised by Ideal Property Group (Ideal), the competition invites shutterbugs across Malaysia a chance to show off their creativity and possibly win cash prizes.

“This year, in response to growing enthusiasm and numerous requests, Ideal is thrilled to introduce a new category for Mobile Photography.

“Whether you’re a professional photographer or an avid photography enthusiast shooting with your mobile phone, this is your opportunity to gain recognition,” the company said in a media statement.

The new category adds to the Architecture Charm and Drone Shot categories.

Participants can submit photographs featuring landscapes or architectural elements within any Ideal development.

The competition runs until June 2025 and participation is free, with unlimited submissions per category.

Each participant is only eligible to win one prize.

For the Architecture Charm and Drone Shot categories, participants have to “like” and “follow” Ideal’s Facebook and Instagram pages.

“Participants also need to send a hard copy of their entry shot to Ideal and email the company the soft copy of their photographs,” it said.

Besides clicking “like” and “follow” of Ideal’s social media pages, Mobile Photography category participants must also share their photo entries in public posts with the hashtags #idealpropertygroup and #myidealhomes2025.

This will allow their entry submissions to be tracked by the competition organisers.

The first, second and third prizes of the Architecture Charm and Drone Shot categories are RM3,000, RM2,000 and RM1000, respectively.

There are also four commendation prizes worth RM500 each.

As for the Mobile Photography category, 10 participants stand to win a RM300 cash voucher each.

Results will be based on an entry’s relevance to the photography category, uniqueness, originality, and creativity.

Avid shutterbugs can get registration forms from the information counter of 1st Avenue Mall along Jalan Magazine, George Town, and Ideal’s sales gallery in Arena Curve, Bayan Lepas.

The forms can also be obtained on social media at www.facebook.com/idealpropertygroup and the company’s website at www.idealproperty.com.my

The list of winners will be announced live at the award ceremony which is expected to be held at 1st Avenue Mall in July or August.
