INVESTMENT holding company Encorp Bhd collaborated with Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) in a bubur lambuk cooking programme that saw the distribution of 3,000 packs of porridge to local communities in Kota Damansara, Selangor.
The communal programme at The Strand Mall, Petaling Jaya, saw 127 Encorp staff and 20 representatives from resident groups in Kota Damansara working hand in hand to prepare the traditional dish.
MBPJ Corporate Communications Unit said in a media statement that during the event, Petaling Jaya mayor Mohamad Zahri Samingon expressed his appreciation for the commitment of all parties in making the programme a success.
In addition to promoting charitable practices, he said the programme was also aimed at strengthening ties between the local authority, corporate sector and local communities.
“It is heartening to witness the spirit of gotong-royong shown by the participants,” Mohamad Zahri said.
“The warm reception and close cooperation between the staff and local residents prove how strong community bonds are important in ensuring a programme’s success.”

Encorp chairman Mohd Yusmadi Mohd Yusoff expressed pride in the company’s involvement in the community initiative.

Also present at the event were MBPJ councillors Farhan Shah Ridzuan, Tan Wei Kiat, Loh Y Lun, Billy Wong and Yip Sean Yi.
