TWO non-profit centres for children and adults with special needs as well as a school received RM5,000 each from a property developer.

Bandar Sri Sendayan developer Matrix Concepts Holdings Berhad, in reinforcing the company’s commitment to fostering inclusivity and community well-being, reached out to Beautiful Gate Foundation (Seremban branch), Touch Community Society Seremban and SK Bandar Sri Sendayan’s Special Education Integration Programme.

The beneficiaries were special guests at a Chinese New Year dinner hosted by the developer to usher in the Year of the Snake during the launch of its Oriental Lunar Fiesta.

It was a weekend showcase of thrilling performances, fun events and culinary delights at the d’Tempat Country Club.

The line-up of events included an acrobatic lion dance and a spectacular mask-changing opera performance that had the guests, aged seven to 50 years, cheering and clapping in excitement.

Guests also participated in an arts and crafts workshop where they tried their hand at Chinese calligraphy and learnt to make Lunar New Year-inspired decorations.

Matrix Concepts property development division co-chief executive officer Tan Sze Chee said the company believed in extending the spirit of togetherness to everyone, especially the less fortunate.

She said the company was committed to supporting and uplifting people in need and ensuring they were cared for.

“This embodies the essence of Matrix Concepts’ culture and values as an inclusive community developer, where everyone has a place and is embraced with kindness and support,” she said.

While enjoying the day’s entertainment, guests were feted to a spread of Chinese delicacies including yee sang.

SK Bandar Sri Sendayan headmaster Mohd Ezani Zamani Khairan thanked the developer for the generous contribution that would go towards purchasing equipment to enhance the motor skills of special needs pupils.

The school’s Special Education Integration Programme has 35 students aged between seven and 11 years old.

“We are grateful for the contribution and the chance to participate in this event.

“It’s a delightful way for the pupils to make new friends, learn about Chinese New Year traditions, and try their hand at craft-making which is therapeutic,” he said.

Touch Community Society Seremban chairman Dr Pushpa Devi Hukam Gopal Chand said the contribution from Matrix Concepts would be used to buy baking equipment for the centre where baking was a popular activity.

Established in 2000, the organisation also known as Persatuan Perkembangan Insan Istimewa Seremban, aims to empower children and young adults with learning disabilities including Down Syndrome, attention deficit disorder and autism.

The guests also received personalised gift sets and a Chinese New Year ang pow each.

Matrix Concepts property development division co-chief executive officer Chai Keng Wai said the company took pride in fostering a strong sense of community by celebrating cultural diversity.

“This initiative is part of our broader commitment to inclusivity and social responsibility, by ensuring everyone feels valued and included.

“Through meaningful engagements like this, we hope to create a positive and lasting impact in the communities we serve.”
