DBKL to charge foreigners RM1 on three more GoKL bus routes

KUALA LUMPUR: Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) will extend the RM1 fee for foreigners using the GoKL bus service on three additional routes starting Jan 1, 2025.

The new routes include Route 5 (Orange) from Titiwangsa Hub to Mindef, Route 6 (Pink) from Seri Pantai PPR to Universiti LRT Station, and Route 8 (Maroon) from Kampung Batu MRT/KTM Stations to Chow Kit.

Foreigners must use cashless payment methods such as Touch 'n Go (TNG) cards, QR codes, credit, or debit cards to pay their fare, according to DBKL's social media post.

Local passengers must register their MyKad with the TNG system to enjoy free rides.

Children aged 12 and below can travel for free.

On Jan 1 this year, DBKL began charging foreigners RM1 per trip on four GoKL routes: Route 1 (Green), Route 2 (Purple), Route 3 (Red), and Route 4 (Blue).

Malaysians can register their MyKad for free GoKL rides at several locations:

- Titiwangsa Terminal Station, Universiti LRT Station (East), and One Maxim Station from Monday to Friday, 7am to noon and 2pm to 7pm

- DBKL’s Urban Transport Department Office at Level 8, Menara DBKL 2 from Monday to Friday, 9am to noon and 2pm to 4pm

DBKL operates 15 GoKL routes covering various parts of the city.
