Old Edwardian 55th reunion dinner, annual school sports this Saturday

Rugby and hockey matches will be held at the school field tomorrow.

FORMER students of King Edward VII School in Taiping will hold their 55th Old Edwardian annual reunion dinner at a hotel in Taiping, Perak, this Saturday.

Old Edwardian Association president Mohaideen Mohd Ishack is anticipating more than 500 former students to attend, including some residing in Australia, the United Kingdom and the US.

The guest of honour at the dinner is Pokok Assam assemblyman Ong Sen Guan, an alumnus.

The school, regarded as a premier education institution for boys, is one of the oldest in Malaysia. Students of the school are called Edwardians or Tigers.

Mohaideen said the annual school sports would be held at the school field at 8.30am on the same day as the dinner.

The Yeoh Teng Khoo rugby match between the old boys and the present school team will be played at the school field at 5pm tomorrow.

The Edward Mai hockey match, also between the old boys and current students, will be held simultaneously at the same venue.

The association’s annual general meeting will be held at the association premises at No.119, Jalan Station, at 10am on July 21.
