Kuala Lumpur mall takes extravagance to whole new level to mark World Chocolate Day

Imagine if Charlie and the Chocolate Factory came to life!

Pavilion Bukit Jalil in Kuala Lumpur played on this idea by hosting “Decadent Delights: A Chocoholic Extravaganza” for World Chocolate Day, which is celebrated annually on July 7.

Media members were among 23 lucky chocoholics chosen to go on a chocolate-themed adventure at the luxury shopping centre.

Highlights included savouring the speciality King Waffle – a Belgian chocolate waffle adorned with fruits, nuts, cream and peanut sauce – at Asuka Cafe.

Its accompanying crispy wafer boat was filled with sponge cake, Oreo cookies, chocolate sauce and homemade yoghurt ice-cream.

This delightful blend was topped with refreshing fruits to tempt even the most discerning chocoholic.

No chocolate experience would be complete without Royce, the premium chocolate from Hokkaido, Japan.

Attendees enjoyed a blind taste test at the store, guessing the flavours of two baton cookies.

The adventure continued with a visit to Vanilla Mille Crepe where each attendee indulged in a bite of the signature Choco Pick Me Up crepe cake.

The brand’s chief executive officer Nelson Liew highlighted their commitment to quality by using sugar-free pastry cream imported from France.

This, he said, ensured a healthier yet sweet flavour profile that aligned with food trends.

“All our recipes are authentic French, freshly made without preservatives, using only the finest ingredients,” he added.

Wrapping up the day, attendees stopped by Street Churros for chocolate churro bites.

They also participated in a workshop at Chez Choux where they learned to fill cream puffs.

There, they also savoured the store’s popular chocolate eclair cream puffs, promoted specially for World Chocolate Day.
