A keen interest in bikes since 17 has enabled Mohd Azuan Ahmad, 45, to express his creativity through modifying motorcycles.

His latest modified bike which he named “Yamaha Ego V1” is decorated in a Spider-Man theme and was presented at Melaka International Motorfest and Scooterfest.

The father of two said it took him about six months to complete the modifications at a cost of more than RM4,000.

“It’s a pleasure for me to express my creativity on each bike,” he told Bernama.

An example was the Spider-Man-themed Yamaha.

“I carved the motor frame to resemble a spider web, doing so until my hands bled,” he said at the two-day festival which took place at Melaka International Motorsport Circuit.

The private sector employee said it was the first motorcycle he had modified to a large extent, where previously he had only changed a bike’s patterns or colours.

He added that the Spidey bike was being exhibited to the public for the first time at the festival.

He also finds satisfaction entering motorcycle modification competitions.

“So far, I have participated in more than 30 competitions of this kind and won more than 10 awards in various modification categories,” said Mohd Azuan, who lives in Klang, Selangor.

His wife Nurfadilah Ahmad said she supported her husband by keeping abreast of related developments.

“I also help out financially. There’s a feeling of pride each time we participate in a competition and bring back an award,” said Nurfadilah, who works as a manager in the Klang Valley.
