New clinic for Bandar Mahkota Cheras


RESIDENTS in Bandar Mahkota Cheras in Kajang, Selangor, will soon have a Klinik Kesihatan in the area.

A 1.2ha land in Persiaran Mahkota Cheras has been identified for the location of the public health clinic.

Kajang assemblyman David Cheong said the 4.9ha plot of land was earmarked for a school but had not been developed.

He said the population in Bandar Mahkota Cheras was about 50,000 and there was dire need for a public health clinic in the township.

Currently, he said residents go to clinics in Sungai Sekamat, 9th mile Cheras or Kajang which are between 6km and 14km away.

“The Hulu Langat District Health Office applied for part of that land for the Klinik Kesihatan.

“After it was found that the 4.9ha land was more than enough for a school, the Education Ministry gave its approval to alienate part of the land for the clinic,” he said.

With the land matter sorted, the next step was for Hulu Langat District Health Office to apply for funds to build the Klinik Kesihatan, said Cheong.
