THE current toll rates for all four highways managed by Amanat Lebuhraya Rakyat (ALR) will be maintained until the end of each of their concession periods, says its group chief executive officer Sazally Saidi.

They are the Sprint Expressway (Sprint), Stormwater Management and Road Tunnel Expressway (Smart), Damansara-Puchong Highway (Litrak) and Shah Alam Expressway (Kesas).

Announcing this during a "buka puasa" event with children from the Darul Sakinah Angkasa Care Centre (DSACC) at Glam Hall Damansara in Petaling Jaya recently, Sazally said this move would generate approximately between RM800mil to RM1bil annually in direct savings for motorists and the government in terms of toll compensations.

During his address, ALR's Group Chief Executive Officer, Sazally Saidi, recapped the benefits of ALR's model, where there would be no increase in toll rates until the end of the concessions, generating approximately RM800mil to RM1bil in total annual direct savings for motorists and savings in toll compensation payment for the Government.

As of 31 March 2023, ALR has generated a direct savings of approximately RM487.6 million for motorists across our four highways and approximately RM467.0 million in toll compensation savings for the Government through ALR’s innovative structure. At the buka puasa event, ALR treated some 20 children from DSACC to a buffet dinner.

Each also received cash contributions amounting to RM50 and new clothes worth RM180.

The children’s home also received a donation of RM2,000 to assist in their daily operation.
