THIS Chinese New Year, Tropicana Foundation teamed up with subsidiary Tropicana Golf & Country Resort (TGCR) and sponsors Vitahealth and Hazukido to bring joy to 200 senior citizens and children from four homes in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

TGCR chefs and kitchen staff prepared fresh seabass, vegetables and tofu dishes while committee members and volunteers helped pack food for distribution.

Vitahealth and Hazukido representatives joined the Tropicana team at each home to hand out health supplements and fresh pastries.

Each home’s residents also received red packets.

Tropicana group managing director Dion Tan said nothing was more meaningful than celebrating Chinese New Year by giving back to the community.

“We are thankful to our generous sponsors, Tropicana Foundation committee members and volunteers who have contributed their time and effort.

“This campaign is also in line with Tropicana Foundation’s focus on redefining the art of caring and the group’s commitment to environmental, social and governance principles.”

VitaHealth donated more than RM16,000 worth of vitamins to the homes, while the freshly baked pastries were sponsored by Hazukido.

The four homes were Than Hsiang Mitra Welfare Centre, You Shan Disabled Welfare Centre, Rumah Juara Petaling Jaya and Rumah Ozanam Petaling Jaya.

Since 2011, Tropicana Foundation, the charity arm of Tropicana Corporation Bhd, has channelled more than RM26mil towards charitable causes around Malaysia.
