The Sibu town square in Sarawak will be transformed for the Christmas Festival 2023.

“It will become a ‘Christmas Wonderland’ to create a festive mood.

“There will be Christmas trees, trains around the square, artificial snow and giant Santa Claus,” said organising committee chairman Simon Wee at a press conference.

The festival themed “A Classic Christmas”, will be held from Dec 8 to 25.

Wee said 87 food and drink stalls would be set up in addition to 10 food trucks.

“We will also have a stall selling souvenirs.”

“About seven local churches will hold performances on the main stage of the town square every night,” added Wee.

A ‘Christmas Zumba Party’ will be held on Dec 23 and participation is free.

Also present at the press conference was deputy chairman Mohammed Abdullah Izkandar Rosely.
