PERCHED on a hill in Genting Highlands, Pahang, lies the Chin Swee Caves Temple.
Built by Genting Highlands resort founder, the late Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong, the temple is dedicated to Reverend Chin Swee (Qingshui) who was a Chinese Buddhist monk in the ninth century.
It is a place of worship, meditation and reflection for visitors but has also become a noted tourist attraction.
The temple complex features a 15m-tall statue of Buddha.
Its architecture is a blend of Chinese and Buddhist design.
The nine-storey pagoda within the temple grounds offers breathtaking views of the highlands.
There are also shops and eateries located on the grounds including the renowned Chin Swee Vegetarian Cuisine, a Chinese restaurant.
The complex also houses the Goh Tong Hall Residence which offers accommodation for devotees wishing to take part in meditation-related activities.
To reach the temple, visitors can take the Genting Skyway cable car which gives them stunning views of the highlands.
