Seven cars suffer burst tyres after hitting pothole on MRR2

SEVERAL videos are circulating online showing seven cars with burst tyres believed to have been caused by a pothole along Kuala Lumpur's Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2).

The clips shared with StarMetro show the vehicles by the roadside while a mechanic replaces the tyres.

An unidentified man is heard saying his front and back tyres were damaged while also indicating the pothole, located on the rightmost lane.

"This is very dangerous for motorists, especially for motorcyclists. This is a very busy road with many vehicles travelling at (high) speed," he says.

The man claimed the incident occurred at KM7.8 at 1.45pm on Friday (July 14) and he was travelling from Bukit Tinggi, Pahang to Petaling Jaya.

One of the clips also shows other moving cars hitting the pothole.

Another video shows the man's car being towed away by a truck.

StarMetro is in the process of getting comments from the relevant authorities.
