SOME 1,000 light-emitting diode (LED) and solar-powered street lights will be installed this year by the Pasir Gudang City Council (MBPG) as part of its low-carbon initiative.

Pasir Gudang mayor Datuk Asman Shah Abd Rahman said the LED poles would be installed along main roads and the solar powered ones would be fixed at residential areas.
