TEXAS Chicken Malaysia kicked off their 10th anniversary in January 2023 with a bang by being the gold winner at the Putra Brand Awards 2022 after winning silver for two successive years.

The Putra Brand Awards is also popularly known as the People’s Choice Awards, whereby consumers select their favourite top brands in Malaysia in various categories.

With this gold in the Retail (Restaurants and Fast Food) category in the bag, Texas Chicken Malaysia is off to celebrate their 10th anniversary in Malaysia on a high with the theme “10 Bold Years” which captures Texas Chicken’s brand personality, as it constantly strives to push boundaries and ensure that its brand presence is felt via its larger-than-life character.

“The past decade has been an extraordinary journey for us here at Texas Chicken,” says Texas Chicken Malaysia general manager Tham Yue Foon.

“It is indeed an incredible achievement to win gold for the first time at the Putra Brand Awards. Advancing after earning silver for two consecutive years is a great boost to our team as we continue to make bold strides and drive the business forward.

“We owe this recognition to our fans who voted us as one of their favourite brands in Malaysia, and as we are also celebrating our 10th anniversary, this year’s victory calls for a double celebration,” she said.

Texas Chicken Malaysia is also ranked third under the fast food category of the 2023 Graduates’ Choice Awards organised by TalentBank, an enabler in the employability ecosystem.

The winners were voted by university students across Malaysia, and this is another testament to their confidence in the brand.

Texas Chicken has grown from its first restaurant which opened in 2013 in AEON Bukit Tinggi, Klang, to more than 90 outlets nationwide with over 1,500 employees today.

The company is also on track to cross the 100th restaurant mark this year as it plans to open 13 new restaurants across Malaysia in 2023.

“For our business to grow, our people must grow with us. As such, we will continue to invest in our workforce as they are the driving force of our company. We aim to have 200 restaurants by 2030 and look forward to expanding to Sabah and Sarawak in the coming years,” said Tham.

“As a team, we have created new milestones in recent years, including launching our first plant-based menu on World Environment Day (June 5), and later introducing a well-received seafood platform, which includes shrimp burger and fish burger.

“With the growing consumer acceptance towards our brand, we are confident that we will chart even more remarkable achievements in 2023.

“In the year ahead, we have several initiatives to roll out to celebrate our 10th anniversary, including launching special limited-time offerings, our first thematic brand video, and implementing new ordering facilities at our outlets.

“We will continue to listen to our customers and will do our best to demonstrate our sincere gratitude for their unwavering support over the years.

“Once more, all of us at Texas Chicken Malaysia would like to acknowledge and thank our customers for their love and loyalty towards our brand, and we look forward to continuing to wow them with our legendary bold Texas flavours.”
