World-renowned contemporary artist Anniketyni Madian held her highly anticipated second solo show at The International Gallery at KLGCC in Bukit Kiara, Kuala Lumpur.
The exhibition was launched by International Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz.
Themed “Susey”, the show is a sequel to Anniketyni’s first successful solo show.
It showcases her skills in material perception by mixing several mediums such as wood, metal, fabric and resin through a series of large-scale sculptures measuring up to 6m long.
“Susey” is inspired by the folklore of Anniketyni’s native Sarawak.
The tales include the origin story of Gunung Santubong and Gunung Sejinjang, and the legend of the infamous vicious crocodile Bujang Senang.
Sime Darby Property is the venue host of the “Susey” art exhibition which runs till Feb 27.
The event is one of the company’s initiatives to create livelier townships and strengthen a sense of community through arts and culture.
Admission to the exhibition is free.
