Honoured for health, safety efforts

ALLIANCE for A Safe Community (Ikatan) chairman Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye was conferred the “Anugerah Khas Bintang Angkasa 2022” by the Malaysian Industrial Safety and Health Association (MiSHA).

The special award was given in conjunction with the MiSHA Inaugural National Excellence Awards on OSH Principle of Prevention 2022. It recognises Lee’s contribution to the promotion of occupational safety and health for more than two decades.

Lee served the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (Niosh) for 27 years, 25 of them as chairman.

He is now with Ikatan, a non-governmental organisation which aims to help build a sustainable culture of accident prevention in the country.
