PETALING JAYA: A loose coalition formed by 11 parties outside the government bloc called Ikatan Prihatin Rakyat (IPR), says Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
With the theme 'Save Malaysia', he said the decision was made by the coalition at a roundtable meeting on Tuesday (Oct 14) evening.
In a statement, Muhyiddin said IPR would be holding a national congress in early 2026 to further explain their 'Save Malaysia' agenda, as well as to address issues that are affecting the people.
He said a secretariat will be established to oversee the concepts and aspects of Malaysians to be discussed in the congress.
The statement was co-signed by leaders from PAS, Gerakan, the Malaysian Indian People’s Party (MIPP), Berjasa, Pejuang, Putra, Muda, the Malaysian Advancement Party (MAP), the National Indian Muslim Alliance Party (Iman) and Urimai.
Muhyiddin added that among the issues discussed are Budget 2026, the Urban Renewal Bill, the developments of genocide in Gaza, Palestine, the safety of children in school, as well as the Government Procurement Bill.
The roundtable discussion was the second of its kind, following the initial meeting on Aug 18.
