THE three-day Pokanime Planet Cosplay Carnival will be held next month at the Exhibition Centre in Pavilion Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur.

During its soft launch, the organiser said more than 120 vendors would be taking part in the carnival from Sept 23 to 25.

There will also be stage performances by cosplay musicians, forums, workshops and a cosplay costume competition.

The carnival will showcase a variety of products, including food and beverages, electronic games, figurines as well as arts and crafts.

The Management and Science University (MSU) will be taking up two premium booths to promote their fashion and lifestyle course during the carnival.

Its fashion students will also participate in the carnival’s costume design competition.

Rasta Creation founder Rasta Rashid said cosplay events were hugely popular around the globe.

“Rasta Creation has been established for over 15 years, supplying ballet and dance costumes to over 200 dance schools in Malaysia and abroad.

“Therefore, performing and the arts are definitely something close to my heart,” said Rasta.

The carnival will see Malaysian-born and the Netherlands-based children’s book illustrator Joanne Liew Vriethoff, Mokumentary cartoonist Daniel Mok and YouTube anime content creators Zamakh and Imran on the panel forums.

There will be stage performances by Rinaa Hime, Samantha Lim, Hazuki Rin, Mirowolf, Izzat Sharaf, Blossom, Sunflower, Chihaya Bibie and her lolita friends, Official Star Wars Fanclub and young fashion designer Sanim Amani.

Also present at the soft launch were Tourism Malaysia strategic and planning senior director Syed Yahya Syed Othman and Pavilion Kuala Lumpur marketing director Kung Suan Ai.
