Varsity reaches out to poor families in three countries


MSU faculty members at the launch of the MSU Community Outreach Week 2022 at the campus in Shah Alam, Selangor.

Management and Science University (MSU) launched its MSU Community Outreach Week 2022 to help the less fortunate and foster the Giving and Grateful (2G) culture among MSUrians.

MSU aims to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for no poverty, zero hunger, sustainable cities and communities, and partnerships for the goals.

MSU president and MSU Foundation chairman Prof Tan Sri Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid joined faculty members at the launch held on campus in Shah Alam, Selangor.

A total of 200 poor families across Malaysia as well as in Bangalore, India, and Jakarta, Indonesia, will each be receiving RM100 cash aid and a box containing daily provisions worth RM150.

A hundred boxes were delivered by event organiser MSU Student and Career Development Department involving three faculties and four schools – the Faculty of Business Management and Professional Studies, the Faculty of Information Sciences and Engineering, the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, the International Medical School, the School of Pharmacy, the School of Education and Social Sciences, and the School of Hospitality and Creative Arts.

Eighty boxes were delivered by MSU Learning Centre KL Sentral and the 10 branches of MSU College nationwide in Shah Alam, Sungai Petani, Penang, Ipoh, Terengganu, Kota Baru, Johor Baru, Seremban, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching.

Twenty boxes were sent to Bangalore and Jakarta by MSU International Medical School offshore campus and Jakarta Global University respectively.
