Resident wants DBKL to fix collapsed drain, cracked wall

Ng Khai Ly, 36, is having sleepless nights after cracks began appearing on the perimeter wall of her single-storey house in Kuala Lumpur.

The mother of three, who lives at Jalan Ibukota 5, Danau Kota, Wangsa Maju, said the problem began three months ago and had worsened.

“First, the drains in front of the wall began collapsing, which I think was caused by soil movement.

“This led to cracks forming along the wall, and it became bigger over time.

“I am worried that if remedial works are not done, my house will be affected,” she said.

Ng, who has been renting the single-storey house for two years, said the landlord had lodged a report with Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) on May 13.

“Several DBKL personnel took pictures of the drain and wall, but no repairs have been done,” she said.

A check by StarMetro on the Adu@KL portal, found that a contractor was instructed to take action on the matter and the complaint status was marked as “completed” without information on what action was taken.
